Glitches in new update

The app keeps launching and failing. Since re installing the app, a large message now covers most of the screen telling me that there is a new version of the app available. Now I cant use the app I have paid for. Not happy at all.

Brilliant!

I slipped upon this app whenever I was typically searching through vegan on the App Store, and I love it! It lets you choose multiple goals, literally PLANS out your meal for the day, is vegan friendly, and everything! Its a wonderful app and beautifully designed, and Im glad I didnt pass it up.

Having fun

Nice clean lines. Easy to use. Very impressed overall.

Food database is lacking

I am used to MyFitnessPal that has a huge food database. This program seems to have a very limited list. The bar code failed on the first attempt. Tried to scan a Diet Coke and it said it couldnt find it. Not overly impressed with at least that part of the program. The other functions seem ok.

Excellent app..

Excellent app.. easy to use, it lets you choose and add food.. Love it

Nice concept poor execution

I like that you can put so many allergens in but the planning button is hard to access. Not to mention wouldnt you include grocery lists to accommodate planning? Seems like common sense. Also my profile doesnt even load. Trying to get my money back

Huh?

I opened it once and during set-up it crashed. Now it crashes every time I open it, instantly crashes and Im back to my home screen. I cant really review the app because I haven been able to even set up a profile.

Not impressed

Update 07/11/2016: Trying it again. Food database is very sparse and Fooducate is still my app of choice. Navigating the app is difficult. Still not recommending it. Update 06/23/2016: Deleted. Never started right the first time I tried to launch it. Had to close it and try again. Not useful. I just started using this and the chance of it staying on my phone is very slim. Fooducate is much better than this app when it comes to speed, reliability, value for the dollar, and the quality of the database. I heard about this app only when Medtronic/MiniMed sent me an email about it being a good choice for diabetics. This app has a long way to go before I recommend it to anyone.

Not for cooks

If all you eat is premade foods that you can bar scan and dine out, then this is a great app. If you actually cook at home, this is not easy to log anything. You can search for similar recipes, but you cant see what all the ingredients are, how big a serving size is, etc. so its totally a crapshoot if youre right.

Diabetic

Whats the deal with downloading this app, it says my credentials are incorrect

Not for everyone

Besides just not being terribly user friendly, this app is clearly intended for middle class white people. The restaurants that come up in a search are Subway/McDonalds for fast food or Applebees if you want something else. The food suggestions are based around bland salads, smoothies with chia seeds or quinoa or bland pasta dishes. I appreciate that you can look up recipes from allrecipes.com but some of the recipes are clearly incorrect on their carb count such as a recipe that claims one serving of fried rice having only 4g of carbs. When I tried to scan a barcode on a Keebler box, it was not recognized. I havent tried other barcodes yet but Keebler is a popular enough brand that Im not optimistic. Im going to try using it a bit longer but it seems like a waste of time unless major changes are made to the platform to make it more user friendly, more multicultural, and more trustworthy in its data.

App

I like the idea of the app but wish that it would load info from my phone like "health" info, steps taken etc... And diabetic blood sugar info. Overall i would say it is a work in progress.

WLW

It was a little different input but it does read well and once I get use to it I may see more quickly and specifically what was eaten for the day. A good resource!

Generic

Needs work as far as scanning and finding items. If you buy generic or store brands it often is not listed in app.

Good start, still clumsy

Got this on recommendation from my insulin pump supplier. Keeping a good food log with the insulin log would be great. So far, I still find it clumsy to use. If it werent for the pump I probably would have quit on it by now. The database is spotty, log entry can be cumbersome. I have yet to take them up on a meal suggestion. But I dont think this is much different than similar apps out there. Everyone is trying to work it out and it will take time. I am sticking with the app for now. I am banking on it getting better, and on me getting more habituated to it. So three stars for now. Hoping I will upgrade the rating in the future.

Poor User Experience

The fact that I cant even use the app until I invite friends is really frustrating. Why would I invite my friends to use an app I havent even used yet?

Cheap trick

This was a good app until on about the 3rd day of having it they say, "psyc! You have to buy it if you want all the features." Its okay but kind of a waste of time after a day or two.

Good tracker

Its great to keep me on track daily. Since Ive been using it for 2 weeks Ive lost 6pds!!! But the most important is that my diabetes is getting controlled. Ive had no hypos or hypers the last 2 weeks

Im special

This looks like a really good app for so called normal people. I have so many food restrictions that this app does not accommodate so maybe its just me. I told it not to include grains but all I get is grains. I cant tell it I need a ketogenic diet. I cant specify my carb limit for a meal. My limit is way below government recommendations. Anyway. This app doesnt work for my very specific requirements.

Good. But no longer great

I stoped using this app for a while. Logged in today and bought the 3 month plan to discover its no different than the free version, (waisted $18) and WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SHOPPING LIST?! I can no longer merge my plans into a shopping list. That was a great feature and saved me A LOT of time. Had I realized this was NLA I would not have spent all that $!! Very disappointed. Also, I am listed as a vegan diet, but when I look for available places to eat around me it only loads steak houses! Seriously??
